Kris Sorbie was born in London, England as the youngest child of polish refugees. By the time she was 16, she had realized her love for hair and beauty and, against her parents' wishes, dropped out of school to attend the Chiswick Polytechnic school of cosmetology. After graduating, she jumped from salon to salon until she found one that seemed to fit her personality and desire to explore new possibilities; Shylocks. Shylocks was one of the first "cut and blow dry" salons in the UK. She quickly grew to be the manager of that salon and eventually worked her way to become the legend she is today.

I am very honored to say i have been in the same room with Kris Sorbie, and even moreso honored to say I shook her hand and spoke with her a moment. Her passion for what she does just shines in everything she says and does. I was amazed by her techniques and the way she saw the world as building blocks to more challenging and beautiful creations to share with those around her. Her kind heart and detication was truely unique. To be around her was to feel motivated and uplifted. Her talents in the world of hair was only a small reason i chose her as my hero. I chose Kris because she works hard every day to acheive all that she wants in life and she treats everyone she meets as a small blessing in her busy schedule. Humble but strong, she was an inccredable inspiration to me and my goals as a hairstylist, and i am truly grateful to have had the opportunity to grow and learn from her.
